Personality: While seemingly quiet and cool, No. 4 is actually just as if not more fiery than his companion No. 3, often being berated for being easily worked up when the two of them butt heads. He is an overall polite individual, showing respect towards his superiors, patience towards his underclassmen, and displaying manners towards allies of YoRHa. No. 4 also displays a subtle degree of care for his friend No. 3, having switched to Gunner after seeing that his aptitude was for an Attacker, though it appeared he was unaware that this gesture would feel like pity to him.

Background: A member of the founding half of the M Unit, No. 4 was originally an Attacker but would inevitably and voluntarily switch to being a Gunner after seeing that No. 3’s aptitude was also as an Attacker. In reality, he was far more skilled, but instead chose this route both as a pragmatic course to have a long-range and close-range duo, but also as to not fuel any negative feelings that his comrade might possess due to being long-time rivals.

[My portrayal will include some elements from the novel, but not all of them as I felt a few vital components regarding No. 4 were not kept. I will typically follow the stage play's canon rather than the book.]
